Following on from @morning glory 's thread on chips, I wondered how many different methods there are of cooking potatoes?

Chips (fries), roast, boiled, baked (jacket), mashed, creamed, duchess, fondant (one that I discovered recently), fried mashed (as in bubble and squeak or rumbledethumps), sauteed, balti, hash brown, potato cake; the list appears to go on forever.

Sautéed in Evoo ( for the renowned Tortilla Española )
Jacks or baked in skins in aluminum foil
French Fries ( varying cuts from wedges to steak fries )
Potato Gnocchi
Stew potatoes
Potato Salad
Mashed or Puréed
Stuffed Baked Potatoes
BBQ
Rostí with herbs
Au Gratin
Soufflé
Boiled
As a filler in uncountable dishes
Russian Salad ( L´ Olivier Salad )
Vicychoisse ( soups )
As a key or minor ingredient in numerous dishes ..

And yes, the list goes on and on !

I would think the question might be, can you think of a way not to prepare potatoes?

Picadillo
Papa Rellena (many versions)
Kartoffelklosse (many versions)
Latke
Smoked
Caveman style
Scalloped
Meat/fish wrapped in/encrusted
Cheffy imitation "scallops"

Are we including yams and sweet potatoes?
