I actually saw an egg cup at the thrift store today. It looked maybe depression era glass...maybe i should have bought it, it was only 49¢ but i am not an expert at glass and i don't think there would be much interest if i tried to sell it as i know of no one that uses egg cups and do people want one offs or do they come in sets?

You can buy them singly or in sets here - there are people who specialise in collecting egg-cups and they are certainly interested in individual items. I'd like to have seen the one you mention.

Lol, that was me with the current equalizer vote.

"Soldiers" are for children and old folks here, so I can't say that I qualify even as sometimes. Also, boiled eggs usually means hard boiled/cooked in America. People will always refer to them as SOFT boiled is as such.

Soft boiled always and the 'soldiers' are simply the most convenient way to convey the runny yolk onto the bread. Dip! There are up-market restaurant versions where the soft boiled eggs are deep fried (you will know I have been practising that) with asparagus spears to dip.

I made some ham wrapped asparagus many moons ago. It didn't work.
