Edible Flowers Quiz

How many can you name?

If this one is too easy, I've a hundred you can have a go at!
Only a few. I am not sure that we have all of them in this country. The only flowers I have ever eaten have been something like squash blossoms. What do you do with daisy's? This is a question I would be interested in knowing the answer to. I have seen them maybe for decoration on something. I didn;.t knw they could be eaten.

can you send me a link to it please?
The only ones I can find now all lead to pininterest, and they're a quarter of the size. It was going to be used elsewhere.

oh my days! not been on for a week or so ,my eyes are rested and sat in front of a 5k monitor ,i use edible flowers small and large,a lot of herb seed flowers , and can't even see whats happening in them,i can see marjoram ,and a few others
its a hard thing to say i like doing these colour quizzes from experience and memory i don't want to troll the web matching to web sites ,there are a load of flowers that the northern hemisphere members will recognise and mix them with a wild card ,but when i do a quiz it needs to be possible without more information,i can't use my phone at the local pub quiz

OK my answers to try to speed up the closure of the quiz... :whistling:

no idea, nasturnum, oregano/majorum, wood sorrel
daisy, sweet pea, evening primrose, dog rose/wild rose
rose (garden variety), pea of some form, yellow poppy?, no idea
no idea, thistle/artichoke/sea holly, dog violet/viola/pansy

I am thinking about some of the others...

Here are some stabs in the dark:

campion, nasturtium, marjoram or lilac, St John's Wart
daisy, pea flower, evening primrose, hibiscus
rose, orchid, squash or courgette flower, no idea
radish, thistle, pansy

I really hate saying no idea!

This is maybe the second time I took a peep at this thread. I've been trying to avoid it like the plague but just could not resist the temptation. I am not good with flowers although I keep planning to go work with( help out) a friend who wholesales flowers. I am just not good with these even after trying to Google some. I will simply wait to see the results.

Me too, and I was brought up to know my flowers and looking at your answers,I can see some of them now but it is the quality of the pictures that makes it so darn difficult!
I really don't know how many of mine are correct. Most are guesses. I'm really not sure about campion, for example, but it was the only white 4 petalled flower I could think of! Similarly the marjoram/thyme/lilac (picture quality too poor) - and as for the bottom left, its anyone's guess. One thing it can't be, though is an African Violet as they are poisonous!

Looks like you have pea, clover, rose... is that a hibiscus? It really is hard to tell from the photos. I can list a bunch of edible flowers, however. There's nasturtium, marigold, pansy, lavender, squash blossom, passion flower, butterfly ginger, cilantro... the list goes on. Those are just some of the ones I grow.

And if I search for them one by one a "chat site" appears with the first six. That is not going to be posted here, sorry.

Ah well, I got seven and I also got St John's Wart but unaccountably ascribed it to the wrong flower! I'd never have got sage bergamot. I think
@SatNavSaysSraightOn beat me.

top row = 3 correct
2nd row = 4 correct
3rd row = liberal interpretation gives 2 correct
4th row = 2 correct...

a generous 11 in total I think or a strict.... mumble mumble...

Salvia officialis (sage bergamot) is simply garden sage or sage in the UK.

the pink rose is not actually native to the UK, but japan!

I think you can be declared the winner! (although its stretching it a tad to say 2 correct in third row). But I suppose @classic33 will have to have final say. And I did wonder about that pink rose. Why have two different coloured roses in the same quiz? Its amazing how well you did given the iffy picture quality.
