Are you planning on any healthy resolutions for the new year? Be it walking or exercise, a healthier diet, drinking more water - what's your plan or goal for the new year?

I've set myself a target of 5000km (3125 miles) on the bike for 2019. I'm hoping to do a lot more than that (I was on track to do 7000km in 2018 until it all went pear-shaped) but I wouldn't be surprised if I end up doing far less.

I'm also entering myself for two challenges on Cycle Chat - a 50km ride every calendar month (the half-metric century), and at least 13 rides of a minimum of 70km (the Annual Lunacy Challenge) to be done at any time of the year. The first of these two challenges is the harder - given the icy surfaces of roads here in January.

I have a few specific health issues that I should follow up with with a specialist, but I've been putting off. Have been disappointed with the medical care here in the past.

Re mental health for the new year, I may need to move away from cooking-related sites. One site in particular, has been very off-putting and has caused me undue stress and grief. I have not contributed there for a long time. When I looked back, I noticed that no matter what cooking related site I went to, my every dish, word, even down to punctuation marks were repeated there over and over again by a specific person & persons. Not once or twice, but ongoing for 2 to 3 years. Not only did these persons copy me, but try to one-up me while pooping on my post at the same time. It creeped me out. It has reached a point, where I consider seeking an attorney's advice, or leaving the internet altogether. I left certain cooking sites, and joined others. Nothing changed…

So sorry to hear that

No one should ever go through something like that, I hope you don't feel like that on here, this does feel friendly.

I am on a non food related forum and am aware of a stalker, that person was reported, I just ignore them but am very careful what I post, not creepy but sad that they have to lie and stalk online as they have no friends or social life-not that it gives them the right :headshake:

I hope you will allow this post to remain here, so all can see and be aware of Internet lurkers who imitate others while attempting to take same down across the web on cooking related sites.

The behavior there is so outrageous, that even the administrator and a moderator took cheap shots at posts from members on another cooking site on April Fool's Day. Hopefully they will be shut down.

Before you sign up for a site, take a good look around.

I am very sorry to hear this and I can imagine what it has entailed for you, and too much what keeps on triggering you. Taking a cue from a recipe is a thing, copying it totally as well as undermining privacy should definitely be pursued in terms of the law.
As Lullabelle writes, we would like if you continued to be a part of CB.

Folk - can we keep on topic here please? Its not really acceptable to start discussing other forums here. Of course, if anyone has any such problems here then please use the Report button.

Back to New Year Healthy resolutions...

I have to lose weight as having adjusted my thyroxine dose on medical advice (I have to take this lifelong). Consequently, I've gained weight and also eaten far too much over Christmas!

To be honest I think we have both lost weight this year with being poorly, very little food was consumed
