Hello from Guernsey.

I'm an older guy, I love cooking but I don't have an artistic bone in my body so nearly everything I cook either comes from the internet or from a recipe book.

Father of four, grandfather to six. (that's Amelia in my avatar)

I work at our local airport repairing and maintaining all the navaids, RADAR, AFTN, DME etc.

Apart from cooking I build plastic models, enjoy travel, go sea angling, do some photography and do some home brewing.

Not really sure what else to tell you, looking forwards to contributing.

Welcome to CookingBites @Wyshiepoo. :welcome:. We are a friendly supportive forum and love new members. I don't believe we have any members from Guernsey (or Jersey for that matter). I do have a very curious recipe book from Jersey which dates from just after the occupation period and contains such delights as 'snail syrup'! It also contains recipes for ormers - do you get those in Guernsey?

Yes, ormers, a species of abalone. Absolutely delicious. I prefer mine shucked, trimmed lightly pounded with a meat tenderiser, sprinkled with a smidgeon of garlic salt, lightly coated in seasoned flour and then gently fried.
