Icelandic Cuisine?

The other thing you must experience if you haven't done it before is the 'Ice- Bar'. Literally that - the whole bar made from ice including the glasses. It really cool... :laugh:
 
The food in Iceland is fantastic, there are several restaurants around Reykjavik who are resurrecting the traditional recipes. Tripadvisor will be a guide to that.

The one rule that I would like any visitor to follow is to check the menu before you go in, and if they are serving Whale then avoid.

As was suggested above, central Reykjavik has become a party town and burger joints abound. In fact on our first visut we ate at the best restaurant in Iceland, called Einer Ben (a birthday treat for me) and it was fantastic. By our second visit it had been converted to a Buritto Bar, such a shame.

If you manage to get out of the capital you will find some brilliant small hotels and cafes to eat in.
