Ideas for apples?

I was thinking 4 cups apples, 4? sugar, 4 ? cake mix

Not likely to be cups being UK. Usually it refers to equal weights of fat, flour sugar. I'm thinking that is the sponge recipe which tops the apple. But @Kake Lover will have to let us know...

Apple sponge pudding is delicious.
Sliced cooking apples and sugar in a baking dish topped with cake mixture and baked. I don't have a particular recipie but my mum uses the 4,4, 4 quantities.

Sorry for being vague. 4oz each of Self Raising Flour, margarine, caster sugar and eggs (2 medium).
