Mmmm. Looks delish. Love pound cake -- especially a toasted slice topped with strawberries or blueberries and whipped cream.

When mom made pound cake it was merely a rectangle loaf about half that size...so is that a 2 pound cake or was my mom's a 1/2 pound cake?

Do UKers do pounds or stones or some other weight measure?

I wouldn't suggest eating a stone cake. :headshake:

Unless you happen to be a dentist.

We use grams but a lot of pre-metric recipes use pounds and ounces (Imperial measures). Many websites give both metric and imperial measures. Despite the fact we went metric in 1965 there are still fruit and vegetable shops which will sell produce in pounds (lbs)!
