So I am the first to confess that I do not major in baking, but since joining the forum I have been trying to step up my game and do more things from scratch. Yesterday evening I decided to surprise my son with a chocolate cake.

In the end, the results were not perfect. It was a little soggy in some areas around the top, but it can be eaten and enjoyed. Have you ever make a chocolate cake using coffee and if you haven't would you be prepared to give this recipe a try? Here it is.

It is always worth trying something new, ok it wasn't perfect but you learn from your mistakes and improve

You are right. It was not perfect in texture but the taste was in my estimation near perfect. My son got other cakes which were beautifully decorated but the taste could not be compared. I always say before you decorate, learn to perfect the cake:happy:. I still don"t know what I wrong but I have a few ideas. Back to the baking science lab perhaps with the correct milk.
