I found this in a charity shop yesterday - a fantastic old carving set, unusual because nothing is missing or broken. It's beautifully made and the knife is sharper than any other I have. I wonder how many meals this has been used on. It will be getting used again later today on a roast chicken!

I'm sure we had a knife with similar handle when I was a kid - would they be circa 1950's do you think?

Another one here retailing at £95. Similar box to yours. Late 19C.

Looks similar to a set my parents have. Probably a wedding present.
So many memories of family Sunday lunches :)

    Just what I'm cooking now.
I've got a new(ish) carving knife, fork and sharpener, but I have antique knife/fork rest.
