@CraigC , @morning glory , I use my vegetable peeler for shaving cheese - all types except soft - and for very thin vegetable strips. Unfortunately they get dull after a while. I recently appropriated this from G's collection of unused toys - I mean very useful tools. 
NOW it is useful. Great for touching up my Japanese knives, sharpening scissors, serrated knives and Vegetable Peelers!
All of my kitchen towels are white. Deliberately. Smaller ones for actually washing with and larger ones for drying. My washer has a Sanitize cycle. I use that with 2/3 cup bleach for my kitchen towels. The white towels may have stains but they are sanitary.
