A silly fun question. You're moving to a new kitchen in five minutes and can only take one gadget along with you. What do you grab and why?

Lets not include knives as they aren't really a gadget and anyway you have to have at least one in any kitchen.

Can opener - really no other way to open a can. Is a can opener considered a gadget?

Definitely a gadget! And a very good choice.

Stick blenders - love them. Often Use mine to mash garlic /olive oil and soft butter for smearing on baguette for garlic bread. Yum! Yum!

Never thought of using it for that - I would usually use a microplane to grate the garlic into the butter/oil or a garlic crusher. But next time I'll try this.

Does a rice cooker count? You can steam veggies, seafood, fish, and cook orzo, rice or pasta at the same time. Orzo and ramen noodles turn out perfectly. Mine is similar to this one (below), but a little smaller. I also have a smaller one. You can make quiche, omelets, and so on.

Yes of course. Anything counts really except knives!

I should get one of those. About a year or so ago I tried making cheesy Cauliflower soup with a tad of mustard using a potato masher.

Coffeepot. I'm addicted to my espresso coffee made with moka.

That would be low on my list as a fork can always be used instead.

Maybe the food processor as it can do a lot of things. I'm torn between that and the Kitchen Aid. Maybe the KA if all the attachments we have can come with it.

That means I'm covered for both tea and pot noodle.
