Supermarkets Tesco, Aldi and Nisa are recalling a number of pastry products over fears they may contain metal wire.

The retailers, along with brands Walls and Millers, have products made for them by Addo Food Group, at six locations around the UK.

Own-brand pies, sausage rolls and pasties with use-by dates ranging from 4 June to 12 June have been affected.

Eek - pieces of metal! I usually don't worry too much about these product recalls but metal could be nasty. I rarely buy these products although my partner likes a Aldi pastie occasionally.

Touch wood, in the 50 years I've done my own shopping, I can't remember ever having any food items that came from supermarkets and were recalled. That isn't to say I haven't sent or taken stuff back for being dodgy - glass in a can of food, and a tub of food that was found to be mouldy - or just not of the quality we would expect, but even then it can't have been more than half a dozen items.
