I've seen people start threads before where they give clues, and people try to figure it out. I wasn't sure where this was headed, either, when I started. So, let's see how many clues it takes for you to figure it out. I will post a picture without explanation, and then field guesses. If someone guesses the ingredients being prepared, I will answer truthfully.

If you're right about the final dish, I will message you. I will post clues slowly or quickly dependent on how many responses I get (i.e., if it's really active, I will post more frequently). The winner gets...oh, I don't know, the honor of starting their own silly thread like this one. :typing:

Yes, though not exclusive to China (at least 1 other Asian country has their interpretation of the dish).

Chillies - it certainly looks stir-fry (-ish).

Chilies, yes, but not a stir-fry (though I admit I did originally start out thinking that way before taking a detour).

Can I ask - is this a well known dish with a specific title?

Yes...it's a well-known dish with a specific title (same title in both China and the other country).
