What did you cook, eat or drink today (October 2018)?

I really enjoyed the last lot, so I cooked some more.

Loop de loop.

Dogs? How about humans?

Its the outer casing which isn't digested in humans...

Sweet corn is digested, otherwise there would be little point in eating it. The inside of each kernel is almost pure starch and is digested very readily. But it is surrounded by a cellulose husk and humans have no way to break down cellulose molecules. If you swallow sweet corn, with or without chewing, some of the kernels may remain intact in the stomach and, although enzymes will diffuse in and nutrients diffuse out, the overall appearance of the kernel will remain very similar when it eventually emerges.

So presumably the reason dogs don't digest is because they can't chew.

So I learned something today.

I worked an 18 hour shift yesrerday, spent 2 hours in traffic getting home, spent 3 hours at home hanging out with my boy and our birds, then drove back into work. So, I treated myself to Chinese take out again.

Beef Chow Fun, doused with red chili flakes:

I taught my wife how to make Pasta Rustico tonight (farfalle with crumbled chicken sausage, onions, olives, and aglio olio e pepperoncino).

Topped with grated Locatelli, it was fantastic.
