I'm curious about the ham questions. Is that an English thing? An inside joke, maybe?

Not at all. Really. I just wasn't 100 % sure it was ham - it could possibly have been salt beef for example:

Lol, Virgina ham D.O.P..

Actually, Virginia ham can really be from Virginia, or it can just be labelled that from how the pigs are fed, and how the ham is cured. It's a point of debate in the States, kind of like calling a bubbly wine a Champagne.

Who knows, maybe pigs really can fly 14,000 km.

Breakfast this morning for my boy and I was steamed soup dumplings, or Xiaolongbao.

Wow. So much yum in here.

My inlaws invited us around. They don’t serve meals. First was crisps & dips, followed by cold boiled prawns, followed by cheese, salami, ham & crackers.

Not a green to be seen.

Italian small plates. Arrancini with fresh moz and prosciutto with a marinara dipping sauce. Marinated roasted red and green peppers with onion slices and garlic. Burrata with heirloom tomato salad.
