I had the chance about 3 years ago of buying a worker's cottage that did at one time belong to the estate. It was a much younger building (merely Georgian!) and had a beautiful and original walled garden - ideal for a greyhound owner. Unfortunately it's on a main road in the centre of town and the only place to park the car was in a very dark alleyway at the rear of the property with no direct access. The wall was included in the listed building status so the option of a gate was more or less out of the question. The walk from the rear to the front of the property was not easy and something I did not relish the thought of, with or without the dog in tow. A great shame as it really was beautiful.
