It was one of those mornings where I was questioned. I'm still in my night clothes, I've wrapped a shawl around my shoulders and I've plodded outside into the garden...

It's 6:18am...

I think it looks promising. Hubby doesn't.

Yep I wasted 15 minutes of my life watching a sunrise.

One of the things I really like about the busy Australian roads is the ability to stop randomly, reverse back to the start of the straight section, search for the camera, fit a new battery, get out of the car, decide the middle of the road really is the best place for the photography, take a few shots, look at them, take another couple, walk back to the car, get in, slow them to hubby, get around to putting the seat belt bask on and then consider driving away whilst all the time knowing you're in dense low cloud and not very visible AND never once did we even hear the sound of another vehicle and this was the Alpine Highway in the national park with Australia's highest mountain, and this being the road that went to it, around it and now proudly announces that it is finally sealed all the way...

Yep I wasted 15 minutes of my life watching a sunrise.

How can you say watching that was time wasted?

A very sunny day here in the east of Scotland, rather surprisingly after a heavy mist early in the morning. We have a lot of goldfinches around at the moment. The UK does not have many colourful birds, but these are an exception. They're tricky to photograph because they flit about a lot, but this wasn't too bad, although it fails to do justice to the lovely colours of the bird.
