cacao powder

Cacao powder is made from the same bean as cocoa powder, but cacao powder is a raw powder and cocoa powder Is the roasted bean
Cacao powder is made from the same bean as cocoa powder,

Both cacao and cocoa are obtained from grinding the bean after extracting the butterfat. The remaining powder is the final product (here) but cacao powder is a raw powder extracted from un-heated cacao beans after they are ground so it retains more nutrients than cocoa powder which is obtained from roasted cacao beans after they are ground and cocoa butter extracted.

So cacao refers to the raw, unheated bean and cocoa refers to the roasted bean (often alkaline treated).
