I must be getting bored :)
Anyone keen to play a little game?
We start with A (surprise surprise)
Anyone lived or visited a town starting with "A" tell us about the town and food scene...
Whether that's Auckand, Aalsmeer, Anchorage, Austin, ....
And after a while I'll call for the next letter....

So A is for Amersfoort in the Netherlands. I went to high school there.
Every day by bicycle, 17 km each way
My parents loved going out so we went to a number of restaurants there.
Turkish, Mexican, Indonesian, and more.
Couple great Indonesian shops there as well.
And they got a brewery "de drie ringen"

Alcester four years ago.
The best gluten free burger I have ever, ever had (pretty good motorbike festival too), very expensive at £12.99 but turned out worth every penny!

Followed by some good West Country cider (even up there they know ours is the best 😂).

Then a slightly (ahem) inebriated me seriously contemplating the thrill of buying a Suzuki Hayabusa, only a mere 194 bhp 😂

Fortunately the burger soaked up enough cider to stop any death purchases happening 😂

I went to Amsterdam, Auckland, and Austin. This is all I remember
I forgot to add Austria

I love the raw herrings from Amsterdam
I love the mussels from Auckland
And I love the gumbo from Austin
I love the chocolate tort at Austria

I forgot to add the next letter, so we'll add the B and the C (and continue with the A).
Lets see if there are more people playing...
Firts town that comes to mind with a B is Bruggr/Bruges is Belgium. Beautiful old town. I don't remember anything about the food, but the beers were great!
C - Copenhagen is the first I think of, but I have only seen the signs. Never been.
Christchurch NZ. Such a fun town (this was long before the earthquake). I must have eaten fish & cray fish there

For B - I will say Ballarat for the Gold Mine fields Eureka Stock Aide
Bath (England) cos I got lost :)
Bath New York - for Tops

And a heap of other "B" places to boot :)

C would be Christchurch years ago so don't really remember too much about it to be honest.

I’ve been Boston, Belgium, Bruges, Belgium, Barcelona, Bath, Bayeux, Bar Harbor, British Columbia

Boston - lobsters
Belgium - mussels
Bruges - chocolate
Barcelona - paella
Bath(England) - I did drink the water there
Bayeux - fish chowder
Bar Harbor - lobsters and BBQ
British Columbia - tea & sandwiches

Cancun - margaritas and spiny lobsters
Canada - more lobsters

Bristol of course and the food scene in Bristol is excellent, so many good meals there I wouldn't know where to start.
Perhaps 'Adelina Yard' they do some interesting and tasty things there.

Bath is where I tend to go for special occasions just because it's a bit further away and a pig to park 😆
Best meal in Bath was at a brasserie called Allium not quite as clever as Adelina yard but very nicely executed.

Recently Beaconsfield 'The Greyhound' a fine dining pub that Grace Dent (food critic) gave a pretty harsh review "an oligarchs saloon bar teetering on the edge of chintz" so I went to see for myself and honestly her review was IMO unnecessarily harsh, mostly based of her dislike of the decor. The food was lovely.

Brighton Can't remember where I last stayed but I do remember the food. It was supposedly a gastro pub. The wine cellar was fabulous the food was mediocre. £20 for spag bol?! and it wasn't even good.

Banff fun, usual ski food fair but mainly done quite well.

I'm sure there are loads more but I'm rubbish at remembering the names of places 😆

Barcelona - my first taste of authentic tapas
Bristol - so many great food places, and the best steak sandwich I have ever had.
Bangkok - China Town is an assault on the senses, so much great and weird streetfood. Standout memory would be standing on a street corner eating Mango Sticky Rice

Bangkok!
How come I didn't think of it.
Such amazing street food. Red curry prawns, satay, phat thai, fish cakes, phat phrik khing ..
And then for C: Chiang Mai. I did a 1 day cooking course there. Great fun. And the night market is fantastic
I absolutely loved the food in Thailand!
