I took a roll of aluminium foil out of the cupboard today and when I unrolled it there was a wide dark mark in the centre. Not easy to get a photograph but this is it.

Does anyone know what it is and more importantly is it detrimental for food use? I generally only use foil as a catcher for fats or oils.

Roll some more out and see if it is a pattern. If so, I would say it ocurred during manufacture.

I have done that and it appears to be throughout the roll. I think I shall dump the roll and buy one from a different manufacturer.

Lol, what we say to,the grandkids if they are disappointed..... Ya get what ya get, and ya don't get upset. Lols.

Seriously I've never seen that, we use the commercial foil here , extra wide. And heavy.

Geez, my wife is much harder.

She'd say, "Suck it up, Buttercup."

To our 6 year old son, no less.

My opinion was that it was where they tried to weld in cheaper Chinese aluminum.

And welding micros of aluminum ain't easy.:whistling:
