During a phone chat with my one year older brother for Christmas/New Years, apple butter was mentioned. And do you know, I have not had it in ages?

It's easy to make and it's on my list of things to churn out a recipe for.

Yes, we eat a lot of apple butter here. If I'm not mistaken, I think SatNavSaysStraightOn makes her own.

Personally, though, I like pear butter better, just because I like pears better in general, but apple butter is still mighty fine.

Yes, pumpkin butter is very popular, and I have a jar of plum butter in my fridge right now.

Not sure if its similar to what you are talking about but I've made 'black butter'. This recipe has the recipe for black butter embedded in it:

I actually have a recipe for this. It's made with butter,sugar, brown cloves,cinnamon and allspice.

I wrote up a recipe for it back in 2015. I made several including single fruit versions (apple, pair and gooseberry) as well as a combined what have I got that needs using version. I also started not using much sugar at all in it.
