Bolognese sauce with a runny egg

Today I was having some pasta with bolognese sauce. At the same time I was boiling eggs and, thinking they'd be done, cracked one open to make sure. It was quite runny and I just figured: "hey, I'll throw this on top of my plate of pasta bolognese"

I know it does sound like quite a weird combination but I think it worked out just fine. Yet another way for me to include eggs into my diet.
 
.I have had completely hard boiled eggs in pasta sauces - namely baked pasta dishes, which also included some diced ham for extra protein. I guess the hard boiled egg thing is more common in southern Italy as a cheap way of adding protein. I've also had diced hard boiled egg in stromboli's, along with some dollops of ricotta and other cheeses. I love the taste and texture.

Eggs In Purgatory is also a really delicious breakfast - it's basically just eggs poached in a spicy tomato sauce then served over toast. Kind of similar to what you did, but no meat in the sauce.
