Has anyone tried laverbread? This is a traditional Welsh delicacy made from seaweed, it is washed and then cooked in to a soft greenish black paste. Laverbread is full of health benefits, it is rich in vitamins and minerals, full of protein and low in calories. It has a unique flavour of oysters and fresh sea air, it is a very versatile ingredient for the chef.

Laverbread is widely available either fresh or tinned in Wales and can be purchased online. It was traditionally a welsh miners breakfast eaten with bacon, eggs and cockles before a long day at the pits.

Yes ,South Wales caviare ,fried in bacon fat ,had it for breakfast ,unusual texture,I would have it again, but not every ones cup of tea!!
the tinned muck has no reflection on the fresh stuff ,if you try eating it with something that complements the flavour you get a better idea of its depth of flavour, but on its own it represents over cooked spinach
