Has anyone ever made Tika Masala? I have never tried it but always wanted to. There aren't a lot of Indian restaurants around here.

My butter chicken is pretty close to tikka masala. Campbell's condensed tomato,soup tin is the secret.

My query is: how heavy is the tomato flavour? I am not a huge fan of tomato and meat together unless it is in a pasta sauce.

Compared to some of my other Asian dishes the tomato content is minor with only two to ½ kg of chicken. I can't describe how heavy the flavour is.

Same as Yorky says, it's not heavy mine only has 1 tin of tomatoes and two sachets of paste. It serves 6 . Sachet I think is two teaspoons each.?
