Has anyone tried Chinese wine? Wine has been produced in China for at least 4000 years, most Chinese wines are made from fermented glutinous rice. The best variety of rice wine is called shaoxing, it has the colour of scotch whisky and a slightly sour taste. It is used for both cooking and drinking.
Other wines that go well with Chinese food are dry roses, sparkling whites and fuller bodied reds.
