My son came to see me the other day and had my 2 youngest grandsons with him. I gave them each a piece of homemade lemon drizzle cake, and as soon as my son saw it, he started reminiscing. He used to love the chocolate cracknell that my mum used to make for him and my brother, and more often than not, they would argue over who was going to get the lions share.

My mum is now 93 years old and lives about 120 miles away, so I decided to make my son his beloved chocolate cracknell.

the Ingredients are as follows:

200 grams of golden syrup

100 grams of butter or margerine

30 grams of cocoa powder

100 grams of cornflakes.

Put the golden syrup, butter/margerine and cocoa powder Into a saucepan and heat until the Ingredients have melted. Gradually add the cornflakes making sure that all the cornflakes are well coated. Add more cornflakes if you think the mixture is too sloppy.

place in a tin, the size is up to you. Press the mixture down firmly. Place in the fridge until cold and hardened. Cut into pieces and enjoy.
