I don't drink much, but aussie ale/beer leaves a lot to be desired.
Hubby finally found civilisation today after 2 years out here!

Orkney beers are top notch, especially the Dragonhead. It's not the easiest beer to track down on draught, though. You quite often see Dark Island (or Duck Island as it's known in this house) and Raven in pubs. The Guildford Arms in Edinburgh has Dragonhead on tap fairly regularly, but that's probably a bit of a long taxi ride from Australia.

We used to often raid Tesco's on our way up and way back down from Kinloch Rannoch buying up a fair portion of what was on the shelves..
My favourite is dark island, dragonhead is just a touch too bitter for me, but Dark Island is spot on. Red McGregor is the next best, but the Ola Dubh is another entity entirely. Can't wait to see what else this bottle shop has to offer. Hubby only apparently made it a few feet into the store!
