I was wondering if anyone here has ever tried using clay pots to cook food. There are many potteries here in my country, so we sometimes use clay pots to cook stews. :) I don't know why, but the food that we cook tastes better when cooked in this kind of cookware and over low fire.

No. We have never really cooked a meal in a clay pot before, and I cannot remember ever seeing it done. However, years ago, we used to fry fish cakes in a clay pot which we used for that purpose only. We used to put a lot of oil in the pot and deep fry the fish cakes. This is the only time we have ever used a clay pot. We have not used this clay pot for many years, however. I am not quite sure what ever became of it.

I don't know if that would work for those of us who use an electric stove. By low fire, I'm assuming you mean a stove where you are burning something like wood or coal. I have never seen a clay cooking pot myself. I think the closest thing we have to that is the ones with the ceramic inside.
