Drinking Glasses

Beats me. We've got glasses from my inlaws wedding, about 80 years ago; from our wedding, 44 years ago; some that my wife bought because she "liked' them ( I hate them); some coloured ones she bought about 5 years ago (kitsch, to me), and a few dozen (picture #3) of the most obscene brown toilet bowls acquired from a friend's mother, who passed in 2025.
Sometimes I pray for an earthquake, so we'll just be left with 2 dozen.

I might also add that my wife is a ferret.:laugh:

.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................. ☝️ this glass right here...

I made THREE triple shot G&T's for the wife of one DH's friends that came to our house when we lived in Southern Arizona ... she fell asleep in her dinner that I served :)

................................................................................................I forgot this ☝️ one... a mini Martini glass that I let DH have a small taste of my evening cocktail.
I have multiples of all of these glasses, why, I'm not sure, I'm the only one in the house that drinks ...

Just one Barriehie
My Gal Pal (who's mom just passed away) came over this evening.
I made us each "My Skinny Cosmo" just one each.
She took one sip, "WHOA! That's pretty strong!"
I forget how many shots of Vodka I put in it, we were too busy chatting...
THEN she was amazed that I knew that names of all of these different glasses... "which one are you getting next then?"
I want a pair of "Nick & Nora" glasses!!! (8 ounce please, not that meager 5 ounce one!)

We have very few stemmed glasses, used to have a lot, no froufrou glasses, a couple of heavy hand blown notable ones and a few standard issue wine glasses. Loads of tall glasses and quite a few odd ones. Some sets, some not, some remnants of sets - obviously the less durable ones are the first to break and get tossed. We're tough on everday glasses. Love Duralex Picardie, have a few smaller sized ones. For big tumblers got a set of Ikea Pokal a couple of years ago like SoCalZone10's but the 17oz big jobbies - we drink loads of water, iced tea & coffee, and sparklings with ice esp in the summer. The Pokals are thick heavy, unpretty, utilitarian and unbreakable. Suits me.
