It's nearly the Equinox folks, so here is my home-made Equinox flapjack recipe.
Equinox and/or Solstice Flapjacks
I have chosen; Dark Plain, and White Chocolate to represent the equal length of night and day on the Equinox; 12 hours each. The milk Chocolate represents the gradual shift from one to the other.
Ingredients:
8 Ounces of Muesli.
2 Ounces of rolled (porridge) Oats.
3 Ounces of Margarine.
2 Ounces of Demerara Sugar
3 Ounces of Golden Syrup
3 Ounces of clear Honey
2 Ounces of Milk Chocolate
2 Ounces of Dark Plain Chocolate
2 Ounces of White Chocolate.
Method:
Melt the Margarine, Sugar, Golden Syrup and Honey together in a saucepan.
Add the Muesli, stirring it in well, add the Oats; again stirring them in well.
Turn the mixture into a shallow greased tin, spread evenly, and bake for about 15-20 minutes at Gas Mk4 or 350*C.
Remove from the oven and divide into pieces; I did 16 pieces.
In separate pots, melt the Dark Plain Chocolate, and the White Chocolate.
When melted, spoon the dark chocolate on to one half of the individual flapjack pieces and allow to set. Then spoon the White chocolate on to the other half of the flapjack pieces.
Melt the Milk chocolate in a separate pot, and use it to make a design of your choice over the already set Dark and White Chocolate halves.
Sit back, relax and watch the rest of your family, friends, and visitors devour them like ravenous beasts.
