When you click on the banner image it comes here. I think it's a matter of making the text fit in the box. (One thread, 2 descriptions since one doesn't fit.)

What you are seeing there at the top, is the featured threads carosel. We can add a picture to an existing thread, and feature it. It shows up on the homepage and a few other areas and highlights a topic. It is not a different thread. If you click the link in the featured thread display, it will take you to the same place as clicking the link you have highlighted below it.

If you look at more information, you can see "both" were started by MG, "both" have 8 replies, "both" are in Misc. Cooking Discussions... and so on.
The clue is at the top, which you omitted from the screenshot. Both the highlighted Feature Threads and the words in the black strip (in my image saying "Show us your breakfast (2026)" are links to areas of the forum.
