I just enabled news and update emails in my preferences so I'll see.

Are you getting anything? I do not have a tick in the tickbox that says enable news feed.

The news feed is simliar to an old RSS feed.

I found the RSS link and it works...

I copied the URL into an RSS aggregator, feeder, I'll see.

The RSS, site side, works fine but the aggregator doesn't do anymore than what the site can already do.

I think rather than following, which hasn't added anything to any type of notification, it's easier to just click on the user.
