As always I just slept the new year in because I had a 5am start to drive 90 minutes away to talk to platypus whilst we are a picnic breakfast. Some people think we're mad, others just know the truth. Lol.

"A la recherche du temps perdu" (In search of lost time), wrote Marcel Proust. After spending 36 hours meandering around O´Hare airport, and 10 hours stuck on 4 different flights, I´m looking to see how I can recover all that wasted time; or at least make up for it!
On the bright side, United´s VIP lounge was very welcoming, comfortable and complete. Free food, snacks, sweets, beer and cocktails. Just as well since I was there for more than 12 hours. And the airport is looking good. Plenty of new cafés, restaurants, bars, stores, etc. to keep you occupied. The only shock was the duty free shop. I didn´t buy anything, but I thought I´d have a peek. Single Malt Whisky, which I can buy in Sainsbury´s supermarket for about £30 - 35, was close to $90 a bottle. How the heck do they work that out???
