Have You Tried Using A Banana In Place Of An Egg?

I've just learned that a mashed banana can be used in place of an egg. This is a useful tip if you run out of eggs when you want to do some baking or cook a dessert dish.

I don't usually buy eggs, and I would prefer to use a mashed banana in a dessert dish that featured an egg in the recipe.

I would love to know if anyone has ever tried this.
 
Not yet, but I really really want to! I've heard that mashed or pureed banana makes a good base for homemade ice cream, too, and that applesauce can be another egg substitute along with ground flax or chia seeds.

The only problem that I can see with using fruits is that they...taste like fruits. So, maybe for savory things it wouldn't work, but for usually-sweet baked goods it sounds great!
