Hello from Australia

Welcome to CookingBites @timmyc. :welcome:We have a couple of members in Australia (including the site owner @SatNavSaysStraightOn who is from UK but living in Australia). We aim to be a friendly community and we love new members! Please feel free to join in wherever you wish. We have a regular thread: What did you cook or eat today (May 2019)? And we also usually have some fun challenges going on - see here.

What types of food do you cook? Do you specialise in a particular type of cuisine?

Most of my experience is around Italian cuisine, although i am very competent around most styles.

I find once the fundamental basic skills are perfected the rest comes relatively easy with time.

what type of food well.....lol

At the moment alot of desserts like creme brulee, panna cotta, tiramisu, pavlova.

Making fresh pasta from hand as well as all the sauces and stocks.

Risotto.

etc

A lot of members here are keen on Italian food - and we have a resident Italian cook @MypinchofItaly who always posts delicious looking food! Feel free to start a new thread about an aspect of Italian cooking if you wish.

How do i go about creating a thread on here?

Newbie problems :P
That sub-forum CookingBites How to Guides had a number of other useful threads as well. Yell if anything needs adding. Just remember to start in the sub-forum you want to post it in.
Also as a new member here you'll need to note that just like your reply , it will go into the moderation queue first for approval. Once you meet certain criteria your threads or replies won't need approval. It shouldn't take too long to get to the point where you won't need to wait for approval .

I joined recently also. I remember experiencing many of the same issues. But with the help of @morning glory and @SatNavSaysStraightOn , I discovered this cooking forum to be one of the most vibrant and insightful food discussions on the internet. I look forward to seeing some of your recipes.
