This mixer now costs a whopping $4K, up from $2K a few years ago!!!! Who would spend that kind of money on a mixer?!!! I realise that the Hobart Corporation makes quality equipment, but come on now, who has this kind of money to fork up on a mixer?!!!! As the old saying goes, you get what to pay for, but there are good quality mixers out there that don't cost this much!!!!!!!! I once thought about getting a used one from Ebay, but even THOSE ones are ridiculously expensive!!! I stopped looking when I found out that they are still out of line when it comes to the price on these things!!!!!!!! And it's still only 5 qts.

What’s wrong with Kitchen Aid, btw, I’m going to give it away to my daughter because she gave away hers before she left for England.
I’m fine with a hand mixer.

They moved production, cheapened the build quality and there are some complaints about the newer ones.
Gears going, power loss and maximum run time of 6 minutes. However most people seem happy with theirs. I think it’s the usual disappointment people feel when a brand downgrades the quality of a product and its not as robust as it once was but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t do the job.

It was enough to put me off buying one though 😬
I went with TR’s desired mixer, the Ankersrum and I LOVE it 🥰

SandwichShortOfAPicnic is so right!! This "changing of the guards," if you will, has been going on for so many years & it seems to be taking place all the time!!!

1. Frigidaire: They used to be made by General Motors. They once made good reliable washers & dryers (I have a Frigidaire fridge) Several co's have bought them out,& now their washers are crap!!

2. KA: Once owned by Hobart; Their dishwashers & mixers were the cream of the crop. Now, since Whirlpool has them, you'd be surprised about how many reviews come from disatisfied owners, saying that they don't like the products.

3. Maytag: This co used to make good washers & dryers. Then they Went by the wayside as well. Whirlpool has them also.

4. Foodsaver: When Tillia had them, they were good!! Jarden Corp has them now, & their vacuum sealers are junk!!! The heating bar seems to fail too prematurely!!!

5. Cuisinart: They once had their own company. Now they are made by Conaire Corp. The blades for their food processors used to crack, becoming a safety hazard. They've since warned consumers and replaced them free of charge. I bought one with the restyled blade.

You might hear sales people say' They still make them like they used to. But that's hogwash!!! You get what you pay for!!!
