This tall light should & will end the problem of extremely dark corners, giving off a very bright area in places that are very hard to see. I saw one at a hotel on Cape Cod, & have been wanting one ever since! It aolso helps provide plug-in power for your smart phone, when needed. Comes with 5 brightness settings for versatility!

Is it solar powered (thereby doing away with the wiring requirement)?

Sorry. You have to plug it in for it to work. But it DOES have 5 light settings & it's very bright at it's highest setting!! It's an LED light, giving you high-power lighting. Gives me enough lighting in the dark to be able to see & use THIS!! :whistling:
