Now firstly, I'm not sure why you would want to do this. Secondly, I cannot vouch that it is true. I was doing a bit of research on paprika and came across this:
Look at the bottom of the pepper (not stalk end). If it has 3 bumps its male. If it has 4 bumps its female. At this point you all rush off to your fridge to inspect pepper bottoms...
