The food industry is among the most profitable industries you can choose from to start a business. Some people say this is because all of us have to eat, but beyond eating, many times one needs someone that organize an event and provide us not just with a dinner but also entertainment and everything else.

Providing a catering service is not only a good income source, but also enjoyable. If you are familiar hosting parties at home, you can easily start your catering business with a little of enthusiasm that you have to learn how to convert home cooking into business cooking and have a real passion for serving.

Now onto the steps to go with your catering startup:

1. First, evaluate how much you are willing to devote time to this business putting aside the money fact. Failure in the cooking niche comes from people knowing that it leaves loads of money but not feeling real interest on this subject.

2. Evaluate your working capital, how much money can you invest? Are you open to get a business partner?
Do you know how to find an angel investor? Financing your business is necessary even if you are simply thinking to invest your long-time saving on this.

3. Decide what is the type of catering service you want to specialize. For a startup, you will need to focus on a single type of service, unless you have the money, personnel, and even a venue to develop a whole-in-one catering business.

4. Among the services to choose from, you can offer banquet service, or simply lunch dinners, or cakes. Browse the many options that catering provides and -- once again -- select the one that matches best what you like, not what gives you more money if you don't feel a great motivation for the best income generator.

5. Create your prospective menus and jot down all costs. You will need a budget for this, which will help you to determine the cost of each dish or service and determine your earnings.

6. Before making your catering business go live, taste your dishes and rehearse with the help of your family and friends to see how you are going to handle prospective clients and upcoming orders.

Until here, you are almost ready to go. We will later continue talking on this same thread about the following steps to get your catering business running soon :)

I would love to set up my own catering business but I feel where I am living there is alreadly enough businesses that offer a catering service, l would have to do something unique or even move to another country where l could take advantage of a gap in the market.
If I was to go abroad selling fish and chips l think I would make a killing but here in the UK its alreadly being done over and over.
