One of my favorite restaurants has the BEST nasi goreng I've had, but it's a bit pricey and not nearby. I've never attempted to make it before but would love to give it a shot! Do you have any recipes?

There are many variations on Nasi Goreng. This is a recipe I use from Rick Stein.

Its pretty authentic but does contain a formidable list of ingredients! There are much simpler versions and I think I have my own simpler version somewhere about. I'll go and hunt...

I'm sorry if I cannot contribute to this thread. But I have a short story to tell about Nasi Goreng. We were in Kuala Lumpur last April and we stayed in Majestic hotel. Our accommodation included breakfast so we had a grand time. On our second morning, my husband took a fancy on nasi goreng. He was telling me that it is a delicacy of Indonesia and Malaysia. But unfortunately, it was the first time that my husband had sampled nasi goreng. His acid reflux didn't agree to the spicy food so he was down with stomach ache until midnight.
