Ingredients for Bourbon Chicken?

A bit of recipe development going on here as I'm entering an (on-line) recipe competition run by Branston Pickle. I thought Branston Bourbon Chicken sounded catchy and could work.

Basically, I'm going to add a few blitzed tablespoons of Branston to a Bourbon Chicken marinade. I've been googling Bourbon Chicken ingredients and there are quite a few variations - but as we have some great American cooks here I thought I'd ask advice on which ingredients you use.

Bourbon chicken usually doesn't have bourbon in it when you get it from a restaurant, especially from a Chinese take-out or a food court place in the shopping mall. People in the US wouldn't buy it for their kids, nor would a bunch of people for religious reasons. If you want bourbon in it, I would just substitute it for some or all of the water.
