Italian Goulash with spicy Paprika

When someone says Paprika I immediately think Goulash. However, for this recipe I used Italian sausage and Trottole noodles to give the dish a beautiful Italian "look and feel".

Ingredients
  • onion (duh)
  • garlic (duh)
  • tomatoes (duh)
  • 2 cups dried Trottole noodles
  • 1 lbs of hot Italian sausage
  • 4 cups of Chicken broth
  • 1-1/2 tsp of Smoked Paprika
  • Other stuff to make it taste BETTER
Method
  • In a stew pot, heat olive oil. Add minced onions & garlic. Cook 1 minute.
  • Add Italian sausage and brown the meat.
  • Add 1 cup broth and 1 cup water. Cook on high for 3-5 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low. Add tomatoes, 2 cups of broth, 1 cup of water and 1/2 tsp of paprika. Cook on low for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to simmer. Cook for 15 minutes.
  • Add 1 cup of broth, 1 cup of water, 1/2 tsp of Paprika and dried noodles. Simmer for 30 minutes.
The Fun Part
  • Taste the sauce and adjust to YOUR liking.
  • I added 1 tbsp of miso, 1/2 tbsp of worcester sauce, 1/2 tbsp of balsamic vinegar, 1/2 tsp of Paprika, and 2 tbsp of crushed red peppers. (I like my food spicy!)
  • I let the pot simmer for 30 more minutes
Great for Lunch and Dinner
  • I made 3 lunchboxes topped with hard boiled egg slices. (Yummy)
  • I ate the rest for dinner TWO nights in a row. That is FIVE meals from one recipe.

Oh ok, you used a couple of Italian ingredients for your recipe. For a moment I thought I missed something about Italian traditional dishes :bookworm:
