Recipe Lavender Shortbread Cookies

I really enjoyed making them (surprisingly, I have never made shortbread cookies before!) and the smell of lavender filled the kitchen as well as adding an interesting taste to the cookies. It was lovely, and I just thought I'd share!

Is there a special kind of lavender that is used for cooking? I had a lavender cupcake recently that tasted like perfumed soap. It was like she sprayed air freshener on a cupcake. I wonder if the cook used a kind of lavender that wasn't food grade.

we have a few lavender farms near us,i have never had much luck growing it ,i have made it into jellies, jams and its great in short breads but it goes great with lamb
