MJ's comments: I have never made this with the ham included. The mushroom and cheddar stuffed is tasty.

Mushroom, Ham, and Cheddar Stuffed Burgers
serves/makes: 10


5 pounds lean ground beef

6 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons seasoned salt (optional)

black pepper to taste

2 cups chopped onion

2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms

2 cups chopped cooked ham

3 cups shredded cheddar cheese

10 hamburger buns

burger toppings, as desired


Heat the grill to high heat and oil the grates. Combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, and black pepper in a large bowl. Mix well.

Divide the burger mixture into 20 equal sized balls. Flatten each ball into a patty. Top half the patties with the chopped onion, mushrooms, ham, and cheese. Top the fillings with the remaining patties. Seal the edges completely to contain the filling.

Place the burgers on the grill and cook for 8-10 minutes per side until the beef is no longer pink and is cooked through.

Remove from the grill and serve on buns with any desired toppings.
