National Fig Newton Day

    Weds 16th January is National Fig Newton Day in the USA. Fig Newtons (often abbreviated to Newtons) are what are known as fig rolls in the UK. Do you ever eat them or make them? I remember having them as a kid - I think my Dad was fond of them.

    The thing is I really love date and tamarind chutney with my bhajees and rhaita. And other curry dishes.
