The mall that is closest to my home has an oil and vinegar store. You can buy or create all sorts of olive oils and vinegars. You can buy a 100 ml bottle and get whatever kind of olive oil you would like and they have all been infused. I bought a chocolate cherry jam there as well as a gift package of 3 different kinds of olive oils including fig. I will split them up and keep one for myself and use the others as gifts. Do you have a neat store like that around you? I think this store is one of only a handful in the US.

I don't think we have anything like that in the UK. Olive oil is just that. Nothing added. But I suppose you could always Infuse the oil of your choice with whatever you choose.

We do :D. You can get all sorts of thing added to olive oil and also vinegar from the shops nowadays. You just need to got to the correct shop.

Waitrose alone (and their online shop is naff compared to the stores) has 6 in...Garlic infused, Chili infused, truffle infused, basil infused and lemon infused are the ones that immediately spring to mind. (http://www.waitrose.com/shop/Browse...i_and_Infused_Oils/refined_by/search_term/oil)

Sainsbury's shows to have 3 Garlic/Chili/Basil infused olive oils.... (Sainsbury's link here, then put a tick in flavoured and speciality)

And I haven't even considered the health food shops, delicatessens, specialist shops or the dreaded Amazon! But I do agree it is very easy to make them yourself and that is what I do when I want them, it saves a fortune.

I had no idea.

We actually have a store like that two door down from where I work. I have never been in it but I walk by it every day. I was thinking of checking it out and maybe buying a few bottles for my sister for Christmas. They have all these neat little gift baskets in the the window on display. My boss's wife goes there often and she is always telling how good the different ones are. I know they are quite expensive but well worth it I hear.

That sounds like a fun store! Sadly, I've got nothing like that near me - but I do make my own infused oils from time to time. It's a lot cheaper than a lot of those fancy stores -- but they are a fun indulgence from time to time, and they do make pretty looking gifts!

Wegman's has infusioned oils which do add a very good taste to the food as a dressing or a bread dip. I would like to make my own infused oil as gifts, I love to look for the bottles to put the oils in. If I am doing oils for gifts they need to sit for awhile, I would need to do them now.

That was another cool thing about the OIl an Vinegar store, they had a number of different types of bottles you could purchase. I love Wegmans. It is my favorite grocery, more of an experience than a store. There is not one close to here, but they are opening a store nearby.
