Came across a thread and ormers were eaten, the poster said they were a type of abalone, looked like a mini Paua we get here, the description for cooking is similar to how I would cook them. Here Paua is expensive but I get either from our son if he's in kaikoura ( seafood town) so I get mine for nothing. The best way I found for cooking was minced with onion garlic breadcrumbs and a bit of cream. They truely are tasty.
