Oven temperatures

140C = 275F = Gas Mark 1
150C = 300F = Gas Mark 2
160C = 325F = Gas Mark 3
180C = 350F = Gas Mark 4
190C = 375F = Gas Mark 5
200C = 400F = Gas Mark 6
210C = 425F = Gas Mark 7
220C = 450F = Gas Mark 8
240C = 475F = Gas Mark 9

I will try to add the aga side of life shortly.

Aga Temperatures do vary but here is a rough guide:

Roasting Ovens – Ave Temp = 250°C, 490°F, Gas Mark 8-9

Baking Ovens - Ave. Temp = 190°C, 375°F Gas Mark 5

Simmering Ovens – Ave. Temp = 140°, 250°F, Gas Mark 1

Warming Oven – Ave Temp - 85°C, 175°F, Gas Mark 0-1

It is important to remember that as the heat comes from all sides agas do coo things more quickly, some things can be ready in almost half of the time so be on the safe side and check. As opening a door on an aga does not cause the oven to drop in temperature it is always wise to check.

This is quite handy. I ran into some trouble some time ago when I forgot to convert the temperature on the oven. When I checked on the baking that should have been ready to come out of the oven it was nowhere near finish. It was only at that point that I recognized I had not made the conversion of the temperatures. This is useful information that you have at your finger tips. Thank you both.

This is very helpful information. Thanks for sharing. At times, it is difficult to understand the over temperatures along with the gas mark.

Yes. Yours will be in degrees F. Just like my gas one.

Thanks!

Mine has oven temps ranging from Warm up to 500 degrees. It's a no-frills basic unit. No bells & whistles. Only 2 lights = one for the surface burners & one for the oven.:wink:

Mine goes from 170°F to 500°F. It is a 5 burner Kenmore that we bought off a friend that got the stove and refrigerator in her divorce.
Needless to say we got it cheap.
