Oxtail tales and ideas

I used to buy them a fair bit when they were cheap. Then they disappeared due to mad cow disease and when they reappeared the price was ridiculous.
But then the price of offal at the butchers is also nuts. The pig kidneys were £7 a kilo in one of the butchers. This is simply price gauging, pig kidney (if you can get it) is £3 per kilo at Morrisons.

I eat them, in fact, I also eat pigs feet(only recently) for the collagen. As I get older, I need collagen. But what I’m not sure is eating more collagen will help my collagen or not. But I’m told I have l fewer wrinkles than people my age.
So I stew them slowly in my crockpot for hours.

I eat pig's feet as well for the collagen and it  does help. It's taken 4 years of oxtails and pigs' feet to restore my skin to pre-desert hydration and suppleness.

It’s not so much for the skin, collagen is for internal too, veins can collapse, i.e spider vein. As we age, everything needs help.

In Hawaii, Oxtail Soup is HUGE!!!
There are several iconic restaurants that serve it and it'll cost you!
Starting at about 426 a bowl, but so worth every bite.
I myself have never made it, because DH does not care for it, but ... then I just did a search of Cowboyville AZ and there are none to be found.
I bet you any amount of money though, if I went to my local Carniceria I could get me some ...
